College Terrace Homes
College Terrace is a highly sought after neighborhood in the City of Palo Alto. The neighborhood is located blocks
from Stanford University, in a 2 block by 12 block area that lies between South California Avenue and Stanford
Avenue, from Amherst Street to El Camino Real. All of the street names in the neighborhood are named after East
Coast colleges and universities. The homes in the neighborhood are known for their eclectic nature.
2150 Dartmouth is a two-story home comprised of 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and 1 half-bath. Built in 1905, it served
as the Marchmont Club – an eating club for Stanford students in the early years of the century. It became a
single-family rental residence after WWI, and ultimately an owner occupied single-family home.
The home's interior has plenty of natural light that accents much of its historic character and detail. There are
hardwood floors throughout the first floor living spaces, and carpet up to and throughout the upstairs living
spaces. The first floor has a gracious foyer, a gas fireplace in the living room, and a bay window in the dining
room. The laundry features new GE Electrolux washer and dryer. The kitchen features a Viking range/oven, and
other new LG appliances (microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher), and ample counter space covered with granite,
including the convenient center island. The kitchen’s bright breakfast nook and the adjacent powder room / laundry
provide direct access to the rear deck and back yard area.
The backyard features the deck, a storage shed, a paved path to a patio retreat, and attractive landscaping. It
is private, sizable and flexible to accommodate other design concepts. The home is proximate to two parks: Werry
Park at the north end of this cul du sac, and Weisshaar Park and Tennis Courts one block to the South. It is just
blocks away from the local elementary school. It is also close to the Stanford University Campus, California
Avenue restaurants and shops, and much more.
